Silas H. Shultz attended law school at the University of Arizona, where he was a member of the Board of Editors for the Arizona Law Review. After graduation in 1966, he began his practice in insurance defense, working for one of the most recognized firms in the field in the state of Arizona. Mr. Shultz handled an extraordinarily high caseload defending suits involving personal injury, product liability, wrongful death, medical malpractice, property damage and other tortious acts.
Mr. Shultz rose to the rank of Senior Partner in the firm and was one of its most experienced trial lawyers defending Fortune 500 companies and Arizona clients in serious cases, including complex multi-million-dollar defective product claims. The experience he gained in learning how insurance companies and manufacturers defend lawsuits has proven to be an invaluable asset in connection with his representing plaintiffs against these entities.
Currently, Mr. Shultz limits his practice to personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, defective automobiles and tires, automobile accidents, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents and medical malpractice on behalf of injured individuals.
Mr. Shultz is recognized by the Arizona State Bar as a Certified Specialist in Injury and Wrongful Death Litigation. Mr. Shultz is also a Board-Certified Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Shultz was elected to the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association Board of Directors in 1991 and continued to serve on the board until 2006. He was also elected to the American Association for Justice Board of Governors, where he served from 1994 to 2006.
The worldwide legal directory Martindale-Hubbell has awarded Mr. Shultz an “AV.” This signifies that he has demonstrated the highest level of legal proficiency and ethical standards in his profession. The directory exclusively awards an “AV” rating to a small percentage of attorneys and the designation is based on the confidential opinions of peer attorneys and members of the judiciary.
From 2008 to present, Mr. Shultz has been recognized annually by Super Lawyers of the Southwest. Mr. Shultz also earned membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, whose membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multimillion dollar verdicts and settlements. He is a Senior Counsel in The College of Master Advocates and Barristers and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
